A team of engineers, designers, and climate enthusiasts united by a simple belief: comfort should be effortless, sustainable, and accessible to everyone.
Coolizi was born from frustration with an industry that had stopped listening to real people. We watched friends struggle with window units that rattled all night, renters forbidden from modifying their spaces, and families paying outrageous installation costs for systems they could not take with them when they moved.
In 2018, a small group of thermal engineers and industrial designers gathered in a modest workshop in Austin, Texas, determined to prove that portable climate control could be genuinely effective, remarkably quiet, and beautifully designed. We rejected the assumption that portability meant compromise. Instead, we approached the challenge as an opportunity to rethink climate technology from the ground up, unburdened by legacy designs or conventional limitations.
Those early months were humbling. Prototypes failed, assumptions collapsed, and we frequently questioned whether our ambitions exceeded what physics would permit. But each failure revealed something essential about airflow dynamics, thermal exchange, and acoustic engineering that no textbook could have taught us. We documented every insight, refined every calculation, and gradually assembled a knowledge base that became our competitive advantage.
By late 2019, we had developed a breakthrough compressor architecture that delivered cooling performance previously thought impossible in a portable format. More importantly, we had done so while achieving noise levels that were genuinely disruptive to the industry. Independent testing confirmed what our own measurements suggested: we had created something special.
Today, Coolizi operates as a fully integrated climate technology company with research facilities, manufacturing partnerships, and distribution networks spanning multiple continents. Yet we remain guided by the same principles that defined those early workshop days: obsessive attention to detail, relentless questioning of assumptions, and an unwavering commitment to the people who invite our products into their homes.
Our mission extends beyond selling climate systems. We are working to democratize indoor comfort by removing the barriers that have traditionally prevented people from accessing effective temperature control. Financial barriers, installation barriers, spatial barriers, mobility barriers, each one represents someone whose quality of life suffers unnecessarily, and each one motivates our daily work.
We invest disproportionately in research and development because breakthrough products emerge from sustained intellectual curiosity, not incremental adjustments to existing designs.
Great climate control should not require home ownership, contractor relationships, or substantial disposable income. We design for renters, students, remote workers, and anyone whose living situation demands flexibility.
Every efficiency improvement we achieve translates into reduced energy consumption across thousands of households. We measure our environmental impact seriously and publish annual sustainability reports.
Coolizi founded in Austin, Texas, with initial seed funding from climate technology angel investors.
Breakthrough compressor prototype validated in independent laboratory testing, achieving unprecedented efficiency metrics.
First manufacturing partnerships established in Southeast Asia with facilities certified to international environmental standards.
Initial product line launched in North American and European markets, receiving immediate recognition for design innovation.
Expanded into smart home ecosystem partnerships, enabling seamless integration with major home automation platforms.
Opened additional research centers in Germany and Singapore to accelerate next-generation climate technology development.
The climate technology landscape is evolving rapidly, and Coolizi intends to remain at the forefront of that transformation. Our current research programs explore advanced heat pump architectures, next-generation refrigerants with dramatically lower global warming potential, and artificial intelligence systems that optimize comfort while minimizing environmental impact.
We envision a future where every indoor space, regardless of size or permanence, can maintain ideal climate conditions without burdening the planet. Achieving that vision requires sustained innovation, honest assessment of trade-offs, and continued partnership with customers who share our values.
We are grateful for the community that has supported our growth and excited about the contributions we will make together in the years ahead. Comfort is not a luxury. It is a foundation for health, productivity, and wellbeing. And we are just getting started.
